Nepal border is directly from Bihar. Whereas, the distance of Bangladesh border is about 20 km from Kishanganj in Bihar. Nepal has a 1751 km long border from India. Of this, the maximum number of 729 km is adjacent to Bihar.
Easy to enter Bihar from Nepal in 3 ways
There is an open border between India and Nepal. This makes people easier to move. Entry from Nepal to India via Bihar is quite easy. It happens in three ways.

Why is strictness necessary on Nepal border?

1. Seema Hyder came from Pakistan two years ago
On 13 May 2023, Pakistani citizen Seema Hyder reached India illegally to meet her lover with her children via Nepal. She entered India via Kathmandu with four of her children. After this, he started living in Rabupura town of Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, investigation of Seema Hyder’s validity and their documents is still under investigation. His lawyer AP Singh has claimed, “All documents are submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and ATS and are following the terms of border bail.”
Gave birth to 5th child two months ago in Noida. This is the first child of Seema-Sachin.
Seema’s demand for Indian citizenship is still pending with the President and hearing of his illegal entry case is going on in the court. Because of this, he is not currently being sent.
2. Khalistani terrorist hidden in Motihari arrested
On 12 May 2025, Bihar Police and National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out a joint operation in Motihari and arrested a 10 lakh prize Khalistani terrorist Kashmir Singh Galwddi (aka Balbir Singh). He was living in Nepal by fake names and was hiding his identity by selling clothes.
He used to bring terrorists to India via Veerganj. He also provided financial help to the terrorists. Also used to arrange training.
Funding of crores of rupees was revealed in 6 bank accounts from him. The arrest took place between Operation Sindoor and the NIA is questioning him.
It is being told that he married a girl to win the trust of local people.
18 foreign nationals arrested in 20 days
In May 2024, 18 suspected foreign nationals were arrested in 20 days while infiltrating India.
- 17 May 2025: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near Ladnian BOP in Madhubani arrested three foreign nationals (one Chinese and two Nepali) infiltrating from Nepal. The inquiry is going on.
- 16 May 2025: SSB posted on the Indo-Nepal border in Raxaul caught a Canadian citizen. The arrested person has been identified as Harpreet Singh. He is originally a resident of Kapurthala, Punjab, who is currently a Citizen of Canada.
- 12 May 2025: Bihar Police and National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Khalistani terrorist Kashmir Singh Galwddi (alias Balbir Singh) in a joint operation in East Champaran, Motihari.
- 8 May 2025: The soldiers of Kishanganj sector arrested 9 Bangladeshi citizens from Daspara village in North Dinajpur. All districts are residents of Dinajpur and Narasindi. The inquiry has revealed that he had been working in Rajasthan for the last one year and was recently returning to Bangladesh.
- 8 May 2025: Four Chinese citizens and two Nepali women were arrested on charges of illegal infiltration at the Raxaul border. Chinese currency and passports were recovered from them and the investigation of Pakistani connection is going on.
What is happening about security on Nepal border
Police check posts have been made on the border. Every person and vehicle is being investigated. Police patrol continues to be 24 hours in the border districts. Patrolling has been intensified in Diara areas of Virpur, Nirmali and Kosi river.
The intelligence system has been activated to monitor the activities of suspicious activities, especially ISI and terrorist organizations.
- Social media and phone calls, especially calls coming from Pakistan, are being strictly monitored.
