Fatehgarh Sahib Cyber Cell has exposed the interstate cyber gang who cheated Rs 30 lakh by showing fear of digital arrest. Police arrested Akbar Ali, the mastermind of this gang, from Malappuram district of Kerala. This arrest is around 2600 from Punjab

SSP Shubham Aggarwal said that the complainant Harpal Singh had lodged a complaint at the cyber police station Fatehgarh Sahib on 10 April. Harpal said that on April 5, he received a call from two different mobile numbers. The callers described themselves as a government official and threatened him of digital arrest. He was also threatened with implicating a terrorist case in Mumbai.
In an atmosphere of fear, Harpal transferred 30 lakh rupees to the account mentioned. The police registered a case on this and started a technical inquiry. Investigation revealed that the entire network was being operated from Kerala. Akbar Ali not only cheated himself, but also opened fake bank accounts from people by luring money. He prepared his team in Ludhiana, Noida, Bihar and other states.
4 out of 7 accused caught So far, the police have named 7 accused in this case. Of these, Maninder Singh, Anil Kumar, Naveen Sharma and Akbar Ali have been arrested. The police has also recovered an amount of Rs 9 lakh. In the interrogation of Akbar Ali, the name of Kerala resident Rishad Melakam has been revealed. He has also been made an accused.
Akbar Ali’s two -day police remand has been taken and he is being questioned. Police say that the roots of this network are spread over many parts of the country. There may be more arrests in the coming days.
