The Election Commission (ECI) has made it clear that this exercise will be done in every state of the country amid the political chaos on the intensive review of the voter list in Bihar. In this, voters will be confirmed from house to house. Through this, ECI wants to ensure that no non -Indian voter is in the list.

Sources in the Commission said that the next turn is of the states where assembly elections are to be held in 2026. These include Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. After the elections in Bihar, a campaign will be launched in these states.

The next phase is the number of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Manipur. There are elections in 2027. Sources said that before the Lok Sabha elections in 2029, there are plans to complete a special intensive review of the voter list of all the states. There are 17 states elections in 2028-29.

At the same time, the opposition has announced the movement by questioning the decision of the Commission. In this sequence, there will be a blockage in Bihar on Wednesday. The Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) and opposition parties have filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
