Surya Raja Balu, the DMK leader in Tamil Nadu and son of a minister in the government TRB Raja, refused to take a medal from BJP leader Annamalai. When Annamalai proceeded to wear a medal, the leader’s son retreated. Surya did not take the medal even after several attempts.

Later Annamalai handed over the medal in the Sun’s hand. The incident took place on Monday during the 51st State Shooting Games Award Ceremony of Tamil Nadu. Annamalai was called as the Chief Guest.

In the last 13 days, there has been a second such incident in Tamil Nadu. Earlier on August 14, the wife of the DMK leader did not take a degree from Governor RN Ravi. He decided to do so in protest against the governor.

The governor was the chief guest at the ceremony, all the passouts had to get a degree from him. In fact, there has been a long dispute between the Government of Tamil Nadu and Governor Ravi about enacting laws.

The Governor had stopped 10 bills of DMK government. The Supreme Court later described the move as wrong and unconstitutional.
