A 9th class student of a government residential school at Shahpur taluk in Yadgir district of Karnataka gave birth to a child in a school toilet. The incident took place on 27 August. According to police FIR, the girl was 9 months pregnant.
The matter came to light when other girls studying with him saw the victim in pain. After this, told the school management. Both the girl and the child have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of both is said to be stable.

Karnataka Child Rights Commission member Shashidhar Kosamba said that the Commission will register a case against the people associated with the case. He will also go to Shahpur to meet the girl and her family.
