Rajnath Singh said this at the NDTV Defense Summit 2025 regarding the softening of American tariff and India-China relations.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday amid controversy over American tariff that no country is a permanent friend or enemy. Only permanent interests are necessary for us.
Talking about India’s foreign and defense policy, he said that there are situations like trade war in the world. Developed countries are becoming increasingly conservationists. India does not consider anyone as its enemy, but we will not compromise on national interest and interests of the people.

For us, the interest of our people, farmers, small traders, countrymen are at the top. No matter how much pressure it is put, but India will not compromise at any cost.
The Defense Minister appreciated India’s self -sufficiency in the defense sector and said that the world is witness to India’s defense capabilities. The way our forces have made accurate attacks on Pakistan with indigenous equipment, it shows that no mission can be successful without foresight and preparation.

Singh said- India’s defense export became 24 thousand crores
The Defense Minister also referred to the revenue from the export of arms and arms systems, an increase in internal military development. He said, our defense export in 2014 was less than Rs 700 crore. Today it has increased to about 24 thousand crores, which has reached a record level. This shows that India is no longer a buyer but is becoming an exporter.
