The accident occurred in Santosh Textile Mill of Jolwa village.
A major accident occurred on Monday evening at Santosh Textile Mill of Jolwa village in Surat district in Gujarat. A chemical drum suddenly burst in the mill, causing a fire in the mill. Two laborers have died in this accident, while many people are said to be injured.
Province officer VK Piplia said that Santosh Mill caught fire in Santosh Mill in Jolwa village of Palsana taluka. 20 people are injured, who have been admitted to hospitals in Bardoli. 8 to 10 vehicles of Surat Municipal Corporation, Bardoli Fire Brigade are engaged in extinguishing the fire.
Some laborers got stuck inside The Mazudis said that the blast was so powerful that the fire spread rapidly throughout the mill. This sudden accident caused chaos in the mill. The workers started running to save their lives, but some laborers got stuck inside.
The rescue team recovered the bodies of two laborers from inside the mill during the investigation. Officials said that the death toll is expected to increase, as some laborers are still missing.
