The Dinner of NDA MPs to be held at PM residence on September 8, a day before the Vice Presidential election, has been canceled. Also, the dinner program of BJP MPs has also been canceled at the BJP’s national president’s house on Saturday.
This decision was taken due to floods in other states including Punjab. According to sources, PM Modi will visit flood affected states and take a review meeting. In Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, there has been a lot of damage due to floods.

NDA coalition MPs will be trained for 100% voting before the Vice Presidential elections. MPs will be told about voting process in a three -day workshop. After this, the PM hosts all the MPs dinner.
In the training session, MPs will be informed about putting the right mark on the ballot paper, using the pen given by the Election Officer and putting the ballot paper correctly inside the box, so that the votes are not invalid.
Actually, the party whip does not apply in secret voting. In such a situation, the focus of NDA is on stopping cross voting and reducing illegal votes. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also perform dinner for NDA MPs on the night of 8 September, a day before voting.
Voting will be held on 9 September for the Vice Presidential election. There will also be counting on the same day. The NDA has nominated Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as Vice Presidential candidate.
He will face India Candidate and Supreme Court retired Justice B Sudarshan Reddy. Retired Justice Reddy is from Andhra Pradesh, while CP Radhakrishnan is from Tamil Nadu.
In fact, the Vice President is being elected due to Jagdeep Dhankhar’s sudden resignation on the night of 21 July. The tenure of 74 -year -old Dhankar was till 10 August 2027.
NDA gets support of 11 additional MPs
Before the Vice Presidential elections, NDA is trying to gather support from MPs of other parties. The alliance has received the support of 11 MPs of the YSR Congress Party of Andhra Pradesh.
Now NDA is trying to bring BJD of Odisha and BRS of Telangana. The BJD has not yet clarified its stand for the Vice Presidential election, while both NDA and India are trying to do their court. India is appealing to support it on the basis of regional representation.

NDA candidate decided to win
Lok Sabha The total number of MPs in is 542. One seat is vacant. NDA has 293 MPs. There itself, Rajya Sabha I have 245 MPs. 5 seats are vacant. The NDA has 129 MPs. Assuming that the members enrolled for the Vice President will also vote in favor of the NDA candidate.
In this way, the ruling alliance has a total support of a total of 422 members. The majority needs support from 391 MPs. In August 2022, NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar received 528 votes. At the same time, opposition candidate Margate Alva got only 182 votes. Then 56 MPs did not vote.
