Indian Air Force needs 114 ‘Made in India’ Rafale fighter aircraft. For this, a proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Defense on behalf of the Army.

These aircraft will be made by French company Dassault Aviation and Indian aerospace companies. ‘Made in India’ will have 60 percent of the goods indigenous in Rafael.

The decision has been taken soon after Rafael’s spectacular performance against Pakistan in Operation Sindoor. The estimated cost of this proposal is more than Rs 2 lakh crore.

Defense officials told ANI that the Ministry of Defense received a case statement (SOC) or proposal from the Indian Air Force a few days ago. Defense, finance and other departments are considering this.

After deliberations, the proposal will be sent to the Defense Procurement Board (DPB) and then to the Defense Acquisition Council (DRC). If this deal is done with France, then the Government of India will be the biggest defense deal ever.

Indian Army will have 176 Rafale aircraft After the completion of 114 Rafale deal, the number of Rafale aircraft in the Indian Army fleet will increase to 176. However, it may take some time now. The Indian Air Force has already included 36 Rafale aircraft, and the Indian Navy has ordered 26 Rafale Marines.

India signed 26 Rafael Marine Deal in June The deal of 26 Rafael Marine aircraft was signed between India and France in June. Under the deal, India will buy 22 single seater aircraft and 4 double seater aircraft from France.

These aircraft will be equipped with the ability to bomb atomic bombs. According to reports, this deal with France is being done for around Rs 63,000 crore. The delivery of these aircraft will start in 2028-29 and all aircraft will reach India by 2031-32.

Rafael Marine will be posted on INS Vikrant

India will deploy Rafale Marine aircraft on INS Vikrant. The aircraft manufacturer Dassao Aviation has made several changes in these aircraft according to India’s need. This includes features such as anti -ship strike, ability to launch nuclear weapons and record flights for 10 hours. Apart from this, the company will also give India the necessary tools of arms system, spare parts and aircraft.

India has purchased 36 Rafale from France

Prior to Rafael Marine, India has also purchased 36 Rafale Jets for Air Force from France. All the aircraft of this deal in 2016 reached India in 2022. They are operated from Ambala and Hashinara Airbase of Air Force. The deal was done for Rs 58,000 crore. The features of the Rafale Marine aircraft are advanced by the Rafale aircraft of the Air Force.
