The Supreme Court has taken automatic cognizance of the frightening conditions that thrives from the chemical -rich water of factories in the Jori River of Jodhpur. A bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta expressed concern while hearing the matter on Tuesday.

The court said-

Polluted water and garbage coming out of factories are being dumped in the river. Countless villages are affected by this. There is no potable water left in these villages.
The bench has ordered to register a self -controversial cognizance case. The suitable order should be presented to the Chief Justice regarding this matter. After this, the Chief Justice will decide who will hear.
One of the seasonal rivers of Rajasthan Jojri is called the seasonal river of the state. It comes out of the hills of Pandalu village in Nagaur district and meets Luni river near Khejlada Khurd in Jodhpur district.
For the past several years, polluted water from the factories of Jodhpur, Balotra, Jalore, Pali districts, especially textile and steel riroling units, is being released into the Jojri river. More than 50 villages and settlements situated on the banks of the river are affected by this.
Luni-jiggry pollution causes The situation has become more frightening after the rains in the villages on the banks of the Luni and Jojri river. Black water ponds are visible everywhere. Animals and birds are losing their lives by drinking polluted water of the pond. Due to this, the number of animals in these areas is also decreasing continuously.
15 to 20 lakh common citizens are also affected due to polluted water. Despite this, no concrete steps have been taken so far for its permanent solution.

The water of Luni and Jojri river has turned black. By drinking this polluted water, animals are losing their lives.
Sewerage problem with industrial also According to the data of Rajasthan Pollution Control Board, Jodhpur has about 230 mega liters of domestic waste (waste) every day. Out of this, only 120 mega liters are treated, while the remaining 110 mega liter is put directly into the river.
The industrial waste comes out about 20 mega liters per day, out of which only 11 mega liters reach the treatment plant. The rest of the pipeline goes due to leakage of the network.
