Every year from July 15 to September 15, all adventure activities in the district are closed for two months. This time too, there was a ban for these two months, but in view of the current circumstances, the district administration has extended this ban till 30 September. The district administration has taken this decision due to security reasons.
Before starting adventure activities, the tourism department team inspected the river rafting sites. River rafting stretch was reviewed in the Beas River between Bandrol and Pirdi from Raison. The floods in Beas river in the valley have damaged several river rafting stretch and paragliding sites between Manali to Kullu.
District Tourism Officer Rohit Sharma said that due to rain, the landing surface has been uprooted in the Dobhi Paragliding site. In addition, early and last site of river rafting has also become unsafe due to floods. He clarified that paragliding and river rafting sites are not suitable for the safety of tourists.
Ban on zip line and river crossing also The zip line and the river crossing have also been banned. The District Tourism Development Officer, Kullu has instructed those who conduct these orders strictly follow these orders including River Rafting and Paragliding Operators. All operators have been asked to put a complete stop on these activities by 30 September.
In view of the rainy season, there is a complete ban on all other adventure activities including river rafting, paragliding in Kullu district from July 15 to September 15 every year. In this season, the water level of Beas river increases significantly and various adventure activities including river rafting, river crossing are not empty of danger.
Paragliding and all other adventure activities in Kullu Valley can also be very dangerous in the rain, so these adventure activities are completely banned every year from July 15 to September 15 in Kullu district, but this time this ban will continue till 30 September instead of 15 September due to disaster and security in the district.
