In Udhampur, a search continues in the surrounding areas amidst the ongoing encounters with terrorists.
Army and Special Operation Group conducted a search operation on Friday evening in the forests of Sojadhar in Dudu-Basantgarh in Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir and Bhadarwah in Doda. During this time, 2-3 terrorists of Jaish hidden there opened fire on the security forces. A jawan was injured in this encounter, who died during treatment on Saturday morning.
The encounter area was kept in a siege overnight. The search operation has been resumed on Saturday morning. Forces equipped with drones and investigative dogs have been sent in search of terrorists from both Udhampur and Doda.
An operation was also conducted in Kishtwar in search of terrorists, where the encounter between terrorists and security forces has been going on since Friday night.
Weapons found in Poonch, AK47 and 20 grenades among them
In Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army recovered a stock of weapons during a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP). According to the army, recovered weapons include an AK-47 rifle, four AK magazines, 20 hand grenades and other weapons.
