The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered Patanjali Ayurved to remove some parts from its Chyawanprash advertisement. The bench of Justices Hari Shankar and Om Prakash Shukla gave this instruction on a petition given against the old order of the High Court in which Patanjali’s advertisement was banned.

Actually, Dabur India Limited filed a complaint against Patanjali in the Delhi High Court. Dabur had accused Patanjali that he was defaming Dabur. After which on July 3, the single bench of the Delhi High Court banned Patanjali’s advertisement. Patanjali then filed a petition against the order.

On Tuesday, the court has allowed Patanjali to be called “Whi Settle for Ordinary Chyawanprash”, but has asked to remove the “Made with 40 Herbs” part with it.

The bench said-

This is Chyawanprash, no prescription drug. If someone says ordinary for cancer medicine, it can be a serious matter, but many people eat Chyawanprash. It is permissible to tell yourself the best and tell others less than you because it is just its praise.

On July 3, the court stayed the advertisement

Earlier on 3 July, the court of Justice Mini Pushkarna’s single bench prevented Patanjali from running an advertisement for Chyawanprash. The court called the company “So why Ordinary Chyawanprash?” And “Those who do not know Ayurveda and Vedas, how will the original Chyawanprash be able to make Chyawanprash, according to the tradition of Charaka, Sushruta, Dhanvantari and Chyawanrishi?” The lines were ordered to be removed.

Patanjali said- ready to remove 40 herbs

In Tuesday’s hearing, Patanjali’s counsel told the court that the company is ready to remove the “40 herbs” part and sought permission to say “Ordinary Chyawanprash”. The court said that if the mention of “40 herbs” is removed, then only “Whi Settle for Ordinary Chyawanprash” is only praised by his product.

Dabur alleged- Patanjali is spoiling the image of his product

The Dabur Company had alleged in its petition- ‘In Patanjali’s advertisement, Chyawanprash with 40 drugs has been called simple. This is a direct target on our product. ‘ Dabur claims its Chyawanprash ’40+ made of herbs’. He has more than 60% stake in the Chyawanprash market.

Dabur also said that Patanjali’s advertisement also indicated that the products of other brands may threaten health. Dabur argued that Patanjali has already been engaged in contempt cases in the Supreme Court for such controversial advertisements. It is clear that he does this again and again.

Ramdev was caught in the first sherbet controversy

Baba Ramdev launched Patanjali’s syrup on 3 April. He said on the social media platform x that a company makes syrup. The money that is received from it makes madrasas and mosques. Baba Ramdev had said that just as love jihad and vote jihad is going on, so sherbat jihad is also going on.

Against this, Ruh Afja Sharbat maker Hamdard filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi argued on behalf of the company. Rohatgi said that this is an attack on the name of religion.
