In this one year, the Congress has made 3 major changes. First, in February this year, Congress in -charge Deepak Babaria was removed and BK Hari Prasad was appointed in charge.

Then, two months ago, after 11 years, the Congress announced its organization and appointed 32 district presidents. Now Rao Narendra Singh has been made the state president in the end of September. The main reason for this is to strengthen the party in the state, so that there is no effort in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to be held in 2029.

In the name of Rao Narendra Singh and Bhupendra Singh Hooda, it was agreed at the meeting of the Congress Working Committee held in Patna on 24 September.

Babaria offered to leave the post after defeat in the assembly elections On 9 June 2023, Deepak Babaria was given the responsibility of in -charge of Haryana Congress. The Congress contested the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections under his leadership. The Congress managed to win 5 out of 10 seats in the Lok Sabha. Whereas, despite the Congress atmosphere in the assembly elections, the Congress was reduced to 37 seats.

After the defeat of the Congress, Deepak Babaria took responsibility and offered to leave the post. He even said that the party should give this responsibility to another leader. Citing health reasons, he said that I cannot give much time.

On 15 February 2025, the Congress removed Deepak Babaria and made BK Hari Prasad in charge. BK Hari Prasad has also been in charge of Haryana Congress in 2013.

32 district presidents appointed after Rahul Gandhi’s visit After the defeat in the assembly elections, the second major decision of the Congress was to form an organization after 11 years. For this, Rahul Gandhi visited Haryana on 4 June. In Chandigarh, he held a meeting with the AICC and PCC observers appointed by the Congress and gave the task to form the organization.

After this, central observers visited all 22 districts. Feedback from leaders and activists short-listed the names who applied for the District President. Panels named after 6-6 leaders were sent to the state in-charge. After this, KC Venugopal and BK Hariprasad held a one-to-one meeting with the central observers and discussed each panel and after the sorting, the final panels were formed.

On August 12, the Congress appointed 32 district presidents. Among them were 3 names who lost the assembly elections in 2024. These include Parvinder Pari from Ambala Cantt, Anirudh Chaudhary from Bhiwani Rural and Vardhan Yadav from Gurugram Rural. Parvinder Pari Ambala Cantt, Anirudh Chaudhary Bhiwani’s Tosham seat and Vardhan Yadav lost the election from Badshahpur seat in Gurugram district. The three were defeated by BJP candidates.

Udaybhan’s leave, OBC face Rao Narendra After losing the assembly elections, a lot of questions were raised on the then Congress President Chaudhary Udaybhan. Since then, there was talk of changing them. Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala, MLA Geeta Bhukkal, MLA Ashok Arora, Ambala MP Varun Chaudhary, former Union Minister Birendra Singh and former Minister Captain Ajay Yadav were discussed for the state president.

Then Congress co -incharge Jitendra Baghel also said that the state president is set to change. There will be a change in the Congress from top to bottom. After this, the matter went into cold storage. On September 23, former ministers Rao Narendra Singh and Bhupendra Singh Hooda received the meeting of the Congress Working Committee to be held in Bihar on 24 September. It was surprising that both leaders are not members of CWC.

Then there was a discussion that Rao Narendra Singh’s name is to be elected to the state president and Bhupendra Singh Hooda for the legislative party. There is a discussion that both names agreed in the meeting. After this, on September 29, the Congress High Command announced the names of the two leaders.
