The dead include Vijay Maurya (40), his wife Dheeraj Kumari (35), elder daughter Tedwa (8) and Chutki (6) besides Suraj Yadav (14), Sunny Verma (14) of the village. The people of the village said- Vijay’s son died two months ago. Whereas, elder daughter Kanchana Maurya is married in Bichhiya Block Mukeria village.

Controversy over garlic sowing

Initial investigation has revealed that Vijay had called two boys to sow garlic. After that there was a dispute in the house. He strangled the first two people. He also killed two of his daughters. After this, he locked himself in the house with his wife and set it on fire.

The villagers said- Vijay came to call my nephew

Jhingur, a resident of the village, said- Vijay came to me in the morning and called my nephew. He started saying that garlic has to be sowed. However, the nephew did not go together. After this, he brought any other two children from excuses. Suddenly the house started burning. On this, we ran and reached the spot. After coming here, it was found out that Vijay had set fire to his family.

Greed for burying 10 rupees per kg garlic

The villagers said that Vijay had brought two children for sowing garlic. He had lured the children to bury 10 rupees per kg of garlic. Both children came to the deception. Villagers say that his cattle have also been burnt alive in the fire in the farmer’s house. The tractor is also burnt to ashes.
