Despite having strict laws to stop child marriage in the country, the situation is becoming worrying. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, in 2023 child marriage cases increased by six times compared to 2022.
The report states that 6,038 cases were registered in the year 2023, while in 2022 only 1,002 cases were registered and 1,050 cases were registered in 2021. In this way, there has been a sudden huge increase in cases related to child marriage in three years.
