Nepali youth under SSB.
A prisoner who escaped from jail during the Gen-Z movement in Nepal was arrested by the Pancham Vahini of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from Champawat. The incident occurred near Parashuram Ghat on 3 October, when the prisoner was trying to cross the Kali River with the help of a rubber tube and enter India.
The special operation team of SSB caught the suspect on the spot. After interrogation and identity confirmation, it was found that the prisoner caught escaped from the jail in Dadhaldhura district of Nepal. According to SSB, a special barrier was placed in the scope of the border outpost (BOP) Khaldunga-2 of the Pancham Vahini.
SSB handed over to Nepal’s armed sentinel force During this time the prisoner was arrested and questioned in the presence of Commandant, Tanakpur Lio and local police. SSB Commandant Surendra Mohan said that after the necessary action, the prisoner was handed over to Nepal’s Armed Sentinel force (APF).
SSB has monitored and tightened the Indo-Nepal border since the fiery demonstrations in August in Nepal and fleeing of jail. The absconding prisoner was caught under this vigil.
