On the advice of the local doctor, there was a matter of giving children to Coldrif and Nextro-DS (Nextro-DS) phlegm syrup. After the death of the children, three teams have been formed to investigate. Now investigations will be done at the state level by creating SIT.
CM wrote- Investigation report was received this morning CM Dr. Mohan Yadav wrote on X- The death of children due to Coldrif syrup in Chhindwara is very sad. The sale of this syrup has been banned throughout Madhya Pradesh. The sale of other products of the company making syrup is also being banned.
Syrup making factory is in Kanchipuram. Therefore, after the incident came to the notice, the state government had asked the Tamil Nadu government to investigate. The investigation report was received this morning. Based on the report, strict action has been taken.
In the year 2023, the Director General of Health Service had sent a letter to all the states that this formula medicine should not be given to children below 4 years of age. Despite this, this medicine was written by the doctors of Chhindwara. Of the 9 innocent people who have died, 7 are 4 years or less. While 2 children are 5 years old.
Coldrif syrup was supplied only in Chhindwara It has been revealed that the Coldrif syrup supplied was sent from Jabalpur. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the Jabalpur Collector had already banned Coldrif Syrup and Nastro-DS syrup.
On the demand of the manager of Shri Sun Pharma Company in Chhindwara, this phlegm syrup was supplied from Mahakaushal dealer Kataria Pharmaceutical. The special thing is that there was only demand from Chhindwara in the entire Mahakaushal for Coldrif Syrup.
Kataria dealer has 66 bottles of Coldriff.
660 bottle syrup ordered, 594 Chhindwara sent Mahakaushal dealer Kataria Pharmaceutical had ordered 660 bottles of cold syrup from Chennai company Shri Sun Pharma in September. Out of these, three different medical shops of 594 Chhindwara were supplied to Ayush Pharma, New Apna Pharma and Jain Medical and General Store. The remaining 66 syrup dealer kept in his office.
On the instructions of the drug controller, Jabalpur Drug Inspector (DI) Sharad Kumar Jain has investigated the Kataria Pharmaceutical Office at Naudra Bridge on Friday. Sharad Kumar Jain said that the dealership of Shri Sun Pharma Company is only one in Mahakaushal.
The syrup of this company is not supplied anywhere in Coldrif Madhya Pradesh. In Chhindwara also, this syrup was sent to only 3 medical shops.
Three teams are conducting separate investigations How did 9 children die? Was there a disturbance in Kapha syrup? Or there is some other reason, to find out, teams from the center and state to district level are conducting separate investigation.
CDSCO Delhi’s team is investigating the manufacturing of cuff syrup. One team is camping in Chennai and the other in Chhindwara. An investigation team is formed on the instructions of the State Drug Controller. This includes DI Sharad Kumar Jain (Jabalpur), Devendra Kumar Jain (Jabalpur), Swapnil Singh (Balaghat), Vaishnavi Talwar and Gaurav Sharma (Chhindwara).
This team will investigate within 7 days and present its report at Bhopal headquarters. Also, on the instructions of Chhindwara CMHO, a team is finding out how many children have been used so far.

Center to state team active in case At the same time, a joint team of representatives of the National Institute of Disease Control (NCDC), National Virus Sciences (NIV), Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) have visited the spot. The team along with the state officials took a total of 6 samples including phlegm syrup. The investigation report did not find diethylene glycol (DEG) or Ethylene Glycol (EG) in any of these samples. Here, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) collected a total of 13 samples. Of these, only 3 samples of Defrost Syrup, Vox MDS Syrup and Alto E Syrup were revealed. In addition to Coldrif and Nexa-DS, 8 more samples are yet to come.
State and center joint team formed A senior SFDA official said that there was a high-level meeting on Friday. In which officials of Madhya Pradesh Public Health and Medical Education Department and State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) were present with representatives of National Institute of Disease Control (NCDC), National Institute of Virus Sciences (NIV), Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO). A joint team has been formed to monitor the entire matter.
