Supreme Court has ongoing discussions about pilot’s mistake in Ahmedabad plane crash ,Regretable, It is reported and sought a response from the Central Government, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB).
Apart from this, the court of Justice Suryakant and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh has also noticed the possibility of free investigation into the case. Aviation Security NGO Safety Matters Foundation has filed PIL.
It alleges that the necessary information has been hidden in the preliminary report and it violates the life, equality and right to get the right information of the citizens. Said in PIL,
Technical problems such as fuel switch malfunction and electrical fault were ignored and the accident blame was only put on the pilot.
The Boeing 787-8 aircraft of Air India going from Ahmedabad to London collided with a medical hostel building shortly after the takeoff on June 12. 270 people died in this. Sumit Sabharwal was the main pilot and Clive Kundar K-Pilot of the flight.
Court said- Investigation will be affected by making the report public
Senior Advocate Prashant Bhushan, who is advocating for NGO, said in the court that it has been more than 100 days for the accident, but so far only the initial report has been released. They said,
The report does not explain what actually happened and what precautions should be taken in the future. This means that even today all the people traveling in these Boeing aircraft are in danger.
On this, the court said that the demand for fair investigation is correct, but making all the conclusions public can affect the investigation.
July 12: Aaib released the report of the accident
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) released its primary report on the Ahmedabad plane crash on 12 July. The report mentioned the conversation between pilot Sumit Sabharwal and Co-Pilot Clive Kunder.
According to the cockpit audio, a pilot asked- why did you cut? And the other replied- I did not. Due to this, there is speculation about the mistake of the pilot.
Pilots and co-pilots were experienced
Ahmedabad-Landan flight pilot Sumit Sabharwal and co-pilot Clive Kunder were. Sumit had a flying experience of over 8,200 hours. The co-pilot also had a 1,100-hour flying experience. That is, both were experienced pilots.
Former CM Vijay Rupani also died in the plane crash
Air India flight number AI 171 was going from Ahmedabad to London. It had a total of 230 passengers, including 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and one Canadian citizen. These included 103 men, 114 females, 11 children and 2 newborns. The remaining 12 were crew members. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also passed away in the accident.
