Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that after receiving the viscera report, CID will now investigate in the right direction in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s death.
Sarma also said that four witnesses who were present in Singapore at the time of Zubeen’s death. They will reach Guwahati on Monday and record their statements before the CID. Everything will be presented before the court in a few days.
Zubeen died by drowning in the sea while scuba diving in Singapore on 19 September. At that time Zubeen was traveling in the boat with a total of 17 people.
So far 7 people have been arrested in the singer’s death case. These include Zubeen’s cousin and DSP Sandipan Garg, manager Siddharth Sharma, co-singer Amritprabha Mahant, North East India Festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahant, band’s drum master Shekhar Jyoti Goswami.


SIT has registered more than 60 FIRs so far
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) said that so far more than 60 FIRs have been registered against 10 people in the state in connection with Zubeen’s death. Special DGP Gupta said that the postmortem report done in Singapore will be given to the family as per protocol. The Singapore investigation team also worked. He also contacted the family. At the same time, the report of the second postmortem conducted in Guwahati has not come out yet.
The viscera sample has been sent to Central Forensic Lab, Delhi for detailed investigation. Gupta said that after receiving the viscera report, the postmortem report will be ready and available to us. To know the real cause of death, the samples taken from the internal organs of the body like intestine, liver, kidney during postmortem are called Viscera sample.
The police officer had said that we have found some evidence against the accused. Therefore his arrest was necessary for further investigation. According to SIT sources, in the video, Goswami was seen swimming very close to Garg, while Amritprabha had recorded the entire incident on her mobile.
Zubeen sang 38 thousand songs Zubeen was born on 18 November 1972 in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, composer, lyricist, actor and director in the Assamese and Hindi film industry. He has sung songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bengali and English languages.
Apart from this, Singer Bishnupriya sang more than 38 thousand songs in 40 languages and dialects including Manipuri, Adi, Boro, English, Goalpariya, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Missing, Nepali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Tiwa. Zubeen was the highest paid singer of Assam.
