Vimalandra Mohan, Raja Darshan Singh of Ayodhya was associated with the lineage. Vimalandra’s mother’s name was Vimala Devi and father’s name was Dr. Ramendra Mohan Mishra. Queen Vimala Devi of Ayodhya had two sons, Vimalandra and Shailendra. Vimalandra Mohan got the responsibility of representing the dynasty due to growing up. People started calling him the king of Ayodhya.

Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra, son of Vimalandra Mohan, is a famous musician and national poet. Yatindra wrote a famous book called ‘Lata Sur Gatha’ on Lata Mangeshkar, on which he has also received the National Award.

At 4 pm on Sunday evening, the body of Vimalandra Mohan was brought from his residence to Baikunth Dham. Here son Yatinder Mohan Mishra offered fire. He was cremated by law. Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, former state secretary Avnish Awasthi, Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Das, Ram Janmabhoomi Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and others were present for the final darshan.

Childhood was spent under tight security Jyotsna Mishra, wife of Vimalandra Mohan Pratap Mishra, died in the last (2024) year. His son Yatindra Mishra is a national level litterateur. A daughter is Manjari Mishra. Vimalandra Mishra was born several generations in the Ayodhya dynasty as a male heir.

Earlier there was a tradition of adoption to carry forward the dynasty. So his childhood was spent in tight security. Vimalandra Mohan’s father Dr. Ramendra Mohan Mishra and mother Maharani Vimala Devi sent him out and admitted him to the local school instead of teaching.

Not allowed to play in childhood The situation in childhood was that till the age of 14, he was not even allowed to play with boys of his age. Not only this, when Vimalandra decided to contest on the BSP ticket, mother Vimala Devi was also against it.

His wish was that the son should not go into politics and pay more attention to family and cultural responsibilities. Vimalandra Mishra also stepped into politics. In 2009, he contested from Faizabad Lok Sabha seat on a BSP ticket. However, he did not win and defeated Congress candidate Nirmal Khatri. After this, he gradually distanced distance from active politics.

Ayodhya king Vimal Mohan Pratap Mishra remained associated with the Ram temple movement from the beginning. In the Nyas workshop at Ramghat, the stone carriage for the Ram temple took place on his land. Which he later donated to the Ram Mandir Trust.

After the disputed structure broke in 1992, he gave a silver throne to enshrine Ramlala. On 5 February 2020, during the Bhoomi Pujan, he again donated the grand silver throne to the Ram Mandir Trust for the four brothers including Ramlala. Not only this, at the time of Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, he tried to resolve the dispute of Ayodhya with senior saints of Ayodhya.

Important role in Ram temple movement When the Supreme Court gave a historic verdict regarding the Ram temple, the process of formation of the trust began. During this time, the senior member who was first elected by Prime Minister Modi was King Vimalandra Mohan Pratap Mishra. Till then, the receiver of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi campus was with the commissioner of Ayodhya, but as soon as the trust came into existence, the first charge was formally assigned to Mishra.
