The bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf made it clear that when the work has been done according to the drawing of the construction department, the contractor cannot be convicted. The next hearing of the case will be held on October 28, till then the ban on blacklisting will continue.
It was said- Contractor should get medal, not punishment Earlier, the case was heard by the Division Bench on September 10. In this, the investigation report of the Department of Civil Engineering of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (Manit) was presented before the bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf.
After reading the report, the Chief Justice had made strict remarks and said- When the contractor has worked as per the instructions of PWD, then why was action taken? The contractor should get a medal, not a punishment.
The other end of the bridge is bend with an angle of about 90 degrees.
Manit’s report- Construction according to the map Manit’s investigation report has revealed that the General Arrangement Drawing given by PWD to contractor Puneet Chadha was shown 119 degrees of the bridge. The angle of the bridge in the investigation was found to be slightly higher than 118 degrees. Both measurements were said to be almost the same.
According to the report, the contractor has done construction work according to the map given by the department.
