The Bombay High Court on Friday dismissed two judges of the lower court on charges of misconduct and not to conduct in accordance with judicial officials. The dismissal of Educational Sessions Judge Dhananjay Nikam of Satara and Civil Judge Senior Division Irfan Sheikh of Palghar were taken after investigating the discipline committee.

Dhrananjay Nikam is accused of bribery, while Irfan Sheikh was found guilty of corruption during the hearing of cases under the NDPS Act and the use of drugs seized during the investigation. A petition filed against Sheikh in the High Court is still pending.

First know what is the matter of Dhananjay Nikam …

The Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) had registered a case against Satara’s District Sessions Judge Nikam for demanding a bribe of 5 lakhs. In January, he moved to the High Court for anticipatory bail and claimed that he was innocent. They have been implicated. The High Court refused to grant him anticipatory bail in March.

The case was related to the custody of a woman’s father. After not getting bail from the lower court, the woman filed a new application in the Satara Sessions Court, which Nikam heard.

The ACB has alleged that Kishore Sambhaji Kharat of Mumbai and Anand Mohan Kharat of Satara demanded Rs 5 lakh for a favorable order from the woman at the behest of Nikam.

The agency claimed that the bribe was confirmed during the investigation conducted between December 3 to 9, 2024. The ACB has registered a case against Nikam, Kharat family and an unknown person.
