Senior IPS officer Praveer Ranjan was appointed as the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Chief and Praveen Kumar as Chief of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Praveer Ranjan Agmut (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory) are 1993 batch IPS officers of cadre. He is currently the Special Director General of CISF.
An order issued by the Ministry of Personnel said that the appointment committee of the cabinet has approved his appointment as Director General of CISF till 31 July 2029. Will retire after this. Praveer will replace the current CISF Chief Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, who is going to retire this month.
At the same time, special director of Intelligence Bureau, Praveen Kumar, has been appointed as Director General of ITBP till September 30, 2030. It is also his retirement date. Praveen Kumar is a 1993 batch IPS officer of West Bengal cadre.
He will replace Rahul Rasgotra, who is scheduled to retire on 30 September. CISF protects the country’s important infrastructure, such as airports, nuclear centers and space centers, while ITBP has been entrusted with the responsibility of security of India-China border.
