The Supreme Court will pronounce its order on October 13 on the petitions demanding an independent investigation into the Karur stampede incident. 41 people lost their lives in this incident. The bench of Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice NV Anjaria will give its verdict on these petitions.
On October 10, while reserving its order, the court had questioned the Madras High Court’s decision to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the stampede and expressed surprise at how it proceeded in the case.

Now free Wi-Fi will be available in the entire Supreme Court building

Now lawyers, parties and visitors will get free Wi-Fi in the main building of the Supreme Court. Earlier this facility was limited to court rooms only. Chief Justice BR Gavai made this announcement at the beginning of the proceedings on Friday. He said that this is an important step towards digital convenience. Now this facility will be available in every part of the court premises.
