In Karnataka, former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is serving a life sentence in rape cases, has been given the responsibility of Library Clerk in Parappana Aghara Jail. According to the jail administration, Revanna has been tasked to give books to prisoners and handle their records. For this work, he got Rs 522 every day. It will be given, provided he completes the fixed work.
According to the jail rules, the prisoners serving life imprisonment need to do some kind of work. The work is selected on the basis of their interest and merit. A jail official said that Revanna had shown interest in administrative work, but the jail administration deployed in the library. Prajwal Revanna is the son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson and senior leader of JD (S) and HD Revanna, MLA from Holenarsipura. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
