CJI was speaking at the 10th All India Conference of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) 2025 in Delhi. Judges and tribunal members from all over the country participated in it. During this time CJI said,
We have immense power but it is necessary to use it in the right place. All the litigants who come to us are confident that they will get justice, so our decision should be fair.
The Chief Justice said that his views are not criticism, but an opportunity for self -determination and improvement, so that the tribunal and the judicial system can be strengthened.
CJI expresses concern over the conduct of judicial officers
CJI said that there is serious concern over the conduct of judicial officers. He informed that now three years practice has been made necessary for the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) examination.
The reason for this is that after becoming a young graduate judge without experience, the senior lawyers start pressing on the first day. Recently it happened in a High Court where a young lawyer fainted with the rebuke of the judge.
The Chief Justice said that the purpose of re -implementing this rule is that the candidates should become a judge only after understanding the process of the court. Referring to the speech of Martin Luther King, he said, “We want leaders who are not money or fame, but lover of justice and humanity.”
August 23: CJI said- Number-rank in the exam does not decide success
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (CJI) BR Gawai said on August 23 that marks and rank in the examination do not decide how successful the student will be.
