A major incident occurred on the Indo-Nepal border in Madhubani on Wednesday morning. 4 suspected youths were trying to cross the border by raw route at SSB checkpost located in Madhitpur village of Basopatti police station area.

SSB jawans stationed at Simari Border Outpost of 48th Corps at 10 am stopped him. The soldiers advised to go through the main road. The suspects became fierce on this and the crowd gathered there shortly. The mob scrambled with the soldiers and threw stones at the checkpost. The miscreants also tried to snatch weapons from the soldiers.

5 rounds firing

Jawan Raju Kumar Ram fired 5 rounds from INSAS rifle in his defense when the situation deteriorated. During this time, a local person Bharat Paswan was shot in the leg and in the right hand of the young Raj Gond.

Police officers reached the spot

On the information of the incident, QRT team, senior SSB officials, SDM, SDPO and police officers reached the spot. The injured jawan was sent to Jayanagar Sub -Divisional Hospital and Bharat Paswan to Darbhanga Medical College Hospital.

Identification continues with the help of CCTV footage

The miscreants have been identified with the help of CCTV footage. The police have arrested one of the accused and the search for the other is on. The administration has clarified that no compromise will be made on border security and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
