Jarang said on Wednesday that now the Maratha community of Marathwada and western Maharashtra will get reservation.

A new conflict has come to the fore in Maratha reservation in Maharashtra. The government on Tuesday accepted 6 out of 8 demands of Maratha agitating leader Manoj Jarang and decided to give Maratha-Kunbi caste certificate to the Marathas. With this, the Maratha community will get the benefit of reservation in OBC quota. Jarang said on Wednesday that now the Maratha community of Marathwada and western Maharashtra will get reservation.

OBC leader Bhujbal missing from cabinet meeting

The government’s decision is satisfaction in the Maratha community, while the OBC society is showing resentment. OBC leader and minister Chhagan Bhujbal was absent from the cabinet meeting and reiterated that if the Marathas were included in the OBC quota, there will be a big movement.

OBC activist Laxman Hake warned that the government does not have the right to give Kunbi certificates to the Marathas and the OBC community will take to the streets and oppose it.
