This is the first meeting of the Congress Working Committee after independence in Bihar. Earlier this meeting was held in 1912, 1922 and 1940. Maulana Mazharul Haq gave 21 acres of land in 1921, on which Sadaqat Ashram was established.
Sadaqat Ashram has special significance in the pages of history, because the strategy of freedom struggle was made from here. In this ashram, Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad, Jawaharlal Nehru had prepared the outline of the freedom struggle.
