On the other hand, dextromethority hydrobromide cuff syrup in Rajasthan and its manufacturing company Casans Forma were also banned. The plan of this company is in Jaipur.

The manufacturer of Coldrif and Nextro-DS drug was taking place in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. After the death of the children, the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday banned production and sale. The wholesale and retail stock of this drug has been seized in the state.

26 days 9 children died in Coldrif and Nextro-DS in MP

9 children died due to drinking cup syrup in Chhindwara of MP. The first suspected case came to light on 24 August. The first death occurred on 7 September. After this, 6 children died one by one due to kidney failure in 15 days. His kidney samples were taken. Its investigation found diyethylene glycol contaminated.

Chhindwara Medical College, Dr. Pawan Nandulkar, a pediatrician said that a phlegm syrup is common in 80 percent of children. Initial investigation is revealing only a disturbance in Kapha syrup. After this, 2 more children died on 2 October. Officers in MP claim that three syrup samples have passed in the investigation of 13 samples taken here. However, it is not clear whether these samples are of the same syrup or not, who were given to those children who died.

2 deaths in Bharatpur and Sikar in Rajasthan Drinking cup syrup in Rajasthan revealed one death in Bharatpur and Sikar. Initial investigation revealed the name of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide Syrup IP. This medicine prepares a private pharma company Kayson Pharma. Here too, the cause of the death of children was told to fail kidney failure. After this, the government came into action on Saturday. The Rajasthan government has banned all 19 types of medicines in Cassions Pharma. The state’s drug controller Rajaram Sharma was suspended.

Action in 48 hours after MP’s letter in Tamil Nadu MP’s drug controller Dinesh Maurya had said that the Health Department has written a letter to Tamil Nadu and Himachal to stop production of both cuff syrup and Nextro DS. The Government of Tamil Nadu got a sample of Coldrif Syrup (batch number SR-13) within 24 hours as soon as he received a letter from Madhya Pradesh. It found diethylene glycol (DEG) 48.6%, which is a toxic substance. It is harmful to health. Soon after, its production and sale were banned across Tamil Nadu.

Center advisory, do not give phlegm syrup to children younger than 2 years

The Union Health Ministry issued a health advisory on Friday saying that children below two years of age should not be given phlegm syrup (cough and cold medicines). The government has issued advisory after reports of death of 11 children from phlegm syrup in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

DGHS under the Ministry of Health said in advisory that children under 5 years of age should not be given phlegm syrup. If cuff syrup is given to older children with this, then they should be used carefully.

That is, the child who is being given medicine should be kept under strict supervision. He should be given appropriate dosage. Medication should be given for the least time. Cuff syrup should not be given with many medicines. Dr. Sunita Sharma of DGHS has issued this advisory.
