The Customs Department has thwarted a major smuggling attempt at the International Airport located in Amritsar, Punjab. According to the information, both these passengers Indigo’s flight number 6E reached Amritsar from Kolkata from 201 201. As soon as both passengers arrived at the airport, custom officials stopped them on suspicion and conducted a thorough investigation. Investigation revealed that both of them had kept gold hidden extremely cleverly. When the officials seized the gold, the passengers did not give any clear information about its source.

Accused continues to be questioned
The Custom Department has immediately registered a case and seized gold and started questioning both the accused. Officials suspect that it may be part of an organized smuggling racket, which was carrying out smuggling using domestic routes. The department is also investigating whether this gang has been delivering gold in the same way.
According to government instructions, the seized gold will now be deposited in the government treasury and necessary legal action will be taken.
