The AMMK contested from Thei and Tiruchirappalli as part of the NDA alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but had to face defeat.
TTV Dinakaran’s party Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) on Wednesday announced to exit the BJP -led NDA alliance. AMMK is the second party that has left the NDA. Earlier, O Panneerselvam expelled from the AIADMK excluded his party from the alliance.
Dinakaran told the media, “This movement (AMMK) was started against the betrayal of some people. We were confident that they would change, but nothing happened.”

Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam recently left the BJP alliance. Now Ammk has also left. Due to a confrontation between PMK organizational leader Ramdas and leader Ambumani, it is not clear whether the party will remain in the BJP -led NDA alliance. DMDK is also in this situation.

The AmMK chief said- We hoped that Amma workers would come with us, and the people of Amma’s party would make appropriate efforts for this. But when we saw them wandering the city and city, carrying their betrayal on the head, we understood that there is no way now, there is no possibility of changing them.
