According to the management, some elephants were brought from other sanctuaries. Gautam was brought from Kanha Tiger Reserve in 1978. Anarkali was brought from Sonepur Fair, Bihar in 1978-79. Shyam was rescued from the forest of Sidhi in 2018. Rama was rescued from Anuppur in 2011. Laxman was rescued from the forest of Sidhi in 2017. The rest of the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is born.
