EVM ballot paper will now have colored photos of candidates. Apart from this, the numbering of the candidates and their font size will also be big, so that the voters can read and see it well.
According to the news agency ANI, the Election Commission (ECI) will start it from the Bihar assembly elections. For this, EC has released a guide line. The Election Commission said that this initiative is part of the 28 reforms that have been implemented in the last six months to improve the convenience of voters and electoral process.
The EC reported that it has amended the existing guidelines of design and printing of EVM ballot paper under Rule 49B of Election Rules, 1961, to increase their clarity and readability.
Candidates/NOTA’s number will be printed in Indian marks in international form. The font size for clarity will be kept 30 and bold.
EVM ballot paper will be 70 GSM paper
According to EC’s statement, EVM ballot paper 70 GSM paper will be printed. Pink -colored paper with special RGB value will be used for assembly elections. The names of all the candidates/NOTA will be printed in big letters in the same font type and font size, so that they can be read easily.
