The Maharashtra Police on Wednesday registered an FIR on Sanjay Kumar, director of the Center for Study of Development Society (CSDS), a political analysis institution. He has been booked under sections 175, 353 (1) (b), 212 and 340 (1) (2) of the Indian Code (BNS). Sanjay is accused of giving false information and election violations.
On August 17, CSDS posted social media for the reduction of votes in Maharashtra Assembly seats. However, on August 19, Sanjay said that along with deleting the post, the figures given in the post were wrong.
Sanjay wrote on X on Tuesday-
I apologize honestly for tweets related to Maharashtra elections. There was an error compared to the Lok Sabha and Assembly data of 2024. Our team incorrectly read the data. The tweet has been removed. I had no intention of spreading wrong information.

He claimed that one lakh 67 thousand 931 or 36.82 percent votes were reduced on Devalali seat.

Pay an affidavit on allegations of vote theft or apologize to the country. If the affidavit is not received in 7 days, the allegations will be considered baseless.
