A fire broke out late on Sunday night at ICU of Trauma Center at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur. 6 patients died of burning in the accident. The fire created an atmosphere of chaos. The smoke spread throughout the ward, causing a stampede among the patients and their families.

The accident took place in the Store of the Neuro ICU ward located in the second floor of the Trauma Center. The store caught fire due to a short circuit at 11.20 pm, causing paper, ICU items, blood sampler tubes kept in the store.
In -charge doctor of Trauma Center Anurag Dhakad said that six deaths have been confirmed at present. Initial investigation is believed to be the cause of the fire. This is the subject of investigation and further investigation. There were 11 patients in the ICU where the accident took place and 13 patients were present in the ICU next to it.
The staff shifted all the patients on the road outside along with the beds. As soon as the information was received, many fire engines reached the spot and an attempt was started to control the fire. The fire brigade team managed to control the fire in 2 hours.

Fire worker said- The entire ward was full of smoke Employee Awadhesh Pandey, an employee who reached the spot from the fire department, told Bhaskar that as soon as we reached inside, the entire ward was filled with smoke. The team reached the spot as soon as the alarm rushed, but there was no way to go inside. In such a situation, by removing the window glass from the other side of the building, he started a shower of water. It took one to one and a half hours to control the fire. At that time the patient and their family were also inside. We took them out one by one. Dr. Anurag Dhakad was also present on the spot and was helping in removing the patient.
The family of the patient said- had told 20 minutes ago, did not pay attention Sheru, a resident of Bharatpur, said that his mother was admitted here for the last few days. Gradually the smoke started coming out, then he told the staff present there that the smoke was coming, but no one paid attention. By 11:20 pm, the smoke started growing and the plastic tube started melting and falling. Ward Boys on the spot escaped from there.
Sheru told that we were unable to remove our patient, tried hard]but nothing was visible due to smoke. The guards and staff present on the spot ran first. We took out our patient ourselves. Two hours after the accident, the patient was shifted to the ground floor. So far it is not known what their situation is. We are not being allowed to meet.
