Lord Swaraj Paul was born in 1931 in Jalandhar, undivided Punjab before independence. After independence, the family settled in village Chang in Bhiwani, Haryana. In the 1960s, Swaraj Paul went to Britain to treat his daughter’s cancer. The 4 -year -old daughter did not survive, but she settled there.
He founded the Ambika Paul Foundation in the name of daughter. Donated for other schemes including education and health of children and youth through the foundation. He also donated to construct his Chang village school building.
