Haryana is expected to get additional electricity soon up to 600 MW, due to which Kishau Dam Project, which will be built on Himachal Pradesh land. This dam will spread over 5400 acres and it will cost 7 to 8 thousand crores. This project is in collaboration with the central government

Currently, Haryana gets 47% of its total water supply from Kishau Dam, in such a situation, the construction of this dam will not only strengthen the water supply but will also increase in power generation.

In this context, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini interacted with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Delhi and has received positive indications about the project. CM Saini has clarified that a high -level discussion has been held on this issue and good news is likely to come soon.

Both states want to resolve the inter state issue

Governments of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have agreed to resolve inter state issues and disputes. Both states have agreed to remove technical and legal obstacles in the construction of Kishau dam to be built on the border of Himachal.

Apart from this, it has been agreed to make committees of both states to remove the obstacles coming in the construction of Kishau Dam, after which both the states have formed technical committees on this project on January 10 this year.

BJP in Haryana, Congress government in Himachal

Discussion of the Chief Secretary level of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh is being discussed in a very cordial atmosphere in both the states. Himachal Pradesh has a Congress government, while Haryana has a BJP government. Despite this, there is not much controversy about interstate issues in both states.

When Haryana had talked about choosing an alternative route to get SYL canal water from Punjab, the government of Himachal Pradesh showed interest in it. However, no such serious efforts were made later by Haryana and insisted on adopting the legal path from the construction of the SYL canal to the water.

Haryana has taken up the issue of lack of water

In the Chief Secretary level talks in Chandigarh, the then Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal and Himachal Pradesh had participated in the Chief Secretary level talks. Officials of irrigation, finance and electricity departments also attended this meeting. Haryana raised the issue of water scarcity in its state in the meeting.

Dam required to cover 35 % water

It was said from Haryana that if Kishau Dam is formed, the water that can be crossed from Hathnikund barrage will be stopped. 65 percent of the water coming from the mountains is covered through different channels, but it is necessary to make Kishau Dam early to cover the remaining 35 percent of the water. This will also help prevent floods in Yamuna and prevent additional water from going to Delhi during rainy and flood days, which harm there.

Himachal has demanded land in Panchkula

On behalf of Himachal Pradesh, it has been said that thousands of people of Himachal Pradesh come here for treatment in government and private medical institutions including PGI Chandigarh, but there is no arrangement to stop. It is quite expensive for such patients and their timbers in Chandigarh. Therefore, the government of Himachal Pradesh wants to build a building in Chandigarh or Panchkula, in which people can stay.

For this, Himachal Pradesh has marked three to four places in Panchkula. Proposals of these lands will be given to the Haryana government by the government of Himachal Pradesh. The Haryana government can then approve one place.

Haryana has expressed his desire to buy power of Kishau Dam

In the meeting, the Haryana government has expressed the desire to purchase electricity to be made in Kishau Dam, on which it was said by Himachal Pradesh that we have no objection to the compromise according to the then norms. With this dam, Haryana wishes to purchase electricity from five hundred to six hundred MW. It was decided in the meeting that written proposals and reports should be exchanged by both the state governments to resolve inter -state issues, so that they could be duly carried forward.
