Earlier, the High Court had stayed the sentence of life imprisonment in the body of a woman found in the ashram. The High Court has so far suspended Rampal’s sentence in two murder cases. On the other hand, the trial is going on in the case of treason registered on Rampal.

The High Court had said that there is allegation against the appellant that they had kept the women closed in the ashram, but there are serious cross -examination issues regarding medical evidence. The court admitted that Rampal is 74 years old and he has already served a real sentence of 10 years 27 days.
Also, the husband and mother -in -law of the deceased also did not support the prosecution. The court ordered his sentence to be suspended until the main appeal was pending.
