A secret meeting regarding this was also held in Chandigarh on Wednesday evening, in which an IAS officer of Principal Secretary level also attended. The government became alert as soon as information about this meeting was received.
Meanwhile, for damage control, Government Chief Secretary CS Anurag Rastogi had started efforts for mediation. He reached Puran Kumar’s Chandigarh mansion to talk to his IAS officer wife Amneet P Kumar. It is being told that during this time Anurag Rastogi expressed consolation and said that the postmortem of the dead body should be allowed so that the last rites can be performed.
On this, Amneet P Kumar first said that the decision on the last rites would be taken only after his daughter returns from America. Rastogi said that the last rites should be decided upon his arrival, but let the postmortem be done before that.
Amneet P Kumar became aggressive on this. She said that okay, file an FIR on the basis of the officers whose names are mentioned in the suicide note, then she will decide on the postmortem. Rastogi could not give any assurance on this. A few hours later, a complaint was given by Amneet P Kumar in Sector-11 police station of Chandigarh.

He is telling that IG Y Puran Kumar’s gunman Sushil Kumar was pressurizing him for monthly bribe. He was mentally torturing her. On October 6, the name of the gunman came and on October 7, the name of Y Puran Kumar came.
Attempt to create an atmosphere against IPS in social media groups Many comments were also written in social media groups along with the video of the liquor businessman from Rohtak. In which it was written that IPS Y Puran Kumar committed suicide due to being entangled in a corruption case. Some old cases were also mentioned.

When Amneet Kumar became aggressive, the Chief Secretary came to convince him. As soon as Amneet P Kumar returned to Chandigarh from Japan, she clearly showed that she would fight to get justice for her husband. When Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi reached his residence to express his regret, he also talked to Amneet P Kumar about postmortem and last rites. Principal Secretary level IAS officers also attended the meeting, whose target was the DGP. He told that DGP is continuously targeting IAS officers of SC category. For this, the action taken against about 4 officers in the last one year was openly mentioned. Now Y Puran Kumar was also harassed in the same way.
Decided to support family, will fight legal battle It was decided in the meeting that Y Puran Kumar’s family will be fully supported. Necessary legal battle will also be fought. After this meeting, some officers and representatives of SC community reached the residence of Y Puran Kumar. Meanwhile, intelligence agencies immediately conveyed the information about this meeting to the government.

- Arrest of Vijay Dahiya: Anti Corruption Bureau arrested IAS officer Vijay Dahiya on corruption charges. He got bail in November 2023. Later reinstated in December 2023.
- Jaiveer Arya arrested: Corruption charges were also imposed on IAS Jaiveer Arya. He was also arrested. It was alleged that he asked for Rs 5 lakh in the name of getting posting. After the arrest he was sent to judicial custody. Later suspended. However, the bail was found. Haryana government refused to give permission to prosecute Jaibir Arya in the corruption case. Because ACB had not taken prior approval under the provisions of Section 17A of Prevention of Corruption Act.
