However, according to sources associated with Chandigarh Police, a note of 8 pages has been found from Puran Kumar’s lower pocket. In this, Puran Kumar has accused 30 to 35 IPS officers and some senior IAS officers of harassing them. He also said that an DGP rank official unnecessarily harassed him by sending him notice repeatedly.
In the note, he spoke of discrimination in casteism, posting, disturbances in Annual Confidential Report (ACR), not getting government housing and getting upset due to administrative complaints and litigation. He wrote that for these reasons he is committing suicide. The Chandigarh Police has also received a will, in which Puran Kumar has written about doing all his property in the name of wife Amneet P. Kumar.
Y Puran Kumar has written to the name of all his property to wife Amneet P. Kumar. Amneet is the Secretary of the Department of Civil Acquisition Department in the Haryana Government.

- Transfer to Police Training College on 29 September: Puran Kumar was appointed IG of Rohtak Range in April this year. On 29 September, he was transferred to the IG post at Sunaria Police Training College (PTC), Rohtak. On 2 October, he left DGP with a holiday. He was to go on duty on Wednesday.
- FIR to seek bribe on gunman on 6 October: Meanwhile, on Monday (October 6), it was revealed that a case has been registered against Gunman Sushil Kumar, a resident of Yamunanagar, who lives with Puran Singh at Urban Estate police station in Rohtak. The liquor businessman alleged that Sushil Kumar sought a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh at the behest of IG Y Puran Kumar. The businessman also handed over the audio clip related to this to the police.
- On 7 October, Y Puran’s name came in the case: SP Narendra Bijarnia of Rohtak said that during interrogation, Sushil talked about taking bribe in the name of IG Puran Singh. He has been presented in court on Tuesday (October 7) and sent him to jail in judicial custody. No notice was issued to Puran Singh in this case yet.
- Puran Kumar shot himself on 8 October: On 8 October, Puran Kumar was in his Kothi number 116 located in Sector-11, Chandigarh with his younger daughter Amulya. His wife, IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar went on a tour of Japan with the delegation of Chief Minister Naib Saini and officials. Between 11 am and 12 am, Puran went to the basement and shot himself. When Amulya returned from the market, she saw her father coming out of the temple.

- Allegations of harassment on former DGP: In 2020, Yu Puran Kumar went to the temple built in Shahzadpur police station on the holiday. The then DGP Manoj Yadav asked whether permission was taken from the government before setting up the temple in the police station. Alleging personal enmity, ethnic discrimination and harassment, Puran Kumar complained to Ambala SP. In 2022, the then ACS Rajiv Arora of the Home Department was accused of creating a biased inquiry report. The High Court demanded an investigation from an independent officer.
- Demand for FIR on ACS: IG Home Guards complained that it is a non -cadre post. Despite having a vacant cadre post of IGP rank, this post has been assigned to insult and harass. The matter reached the High Court. He even demanded an FIR on the then ACS Rajiv Arora of the Home Department.
- Question on posting: Write letters to the National Scheduled Castes Commission. Accused SC officers of not giving proper representation in field posting.
- If the new car was not found then returned the old: The old Honda City Car Department returned to the new Innova car while not getting the new Innova car while in the telecom department. The Honda City car was 7 years old. Wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary, questioned the system.
- Case of 2-2 houses of officers raised: In 2023, 9 IPS officers wrote a letter to the government regarding 2-2 government housing allotment. The government issued a letter that no officer would keep 2 government houses.
- Wrote letter against DGP: In 2024, a letter was written to the Election Commission against DGP Shatrujit Kapoor that the temporary transfer mandate of Haryana Police Service Officers has been made against the mandate and should be investigated.
- Complained on delay in promotion: 2024 Wrote a letter to the Central Personnel Department and CM that the promotion of IPS officers of 1991, 1996, 1997, 2005 batch is not correct. The IPS officers of 2006 batch sent a complaint even after not getting timely promotion.
- Complaint of the Chief Electoral Officer: In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the then Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal accused SC officers transferring. General officers are not transferring.
- Complained for posting of IPS: In the assembly elections held in 2024, a complaint was lodged with the Election Commission regarding the posting of IPS officer Rajendra Kumar. It was alleged that the officials are close to the ruling party, so should be transferred.
- IPS complained about field deployment: In the 2024 assembly elections, he complained to an IPS officer of IG rank. In a letter sent to the Election Commission, IG said that IG has retirement on 31 October 2024. Can not stay in the field.
