Sunil Kapoor was called RTI activist in the city. In 2014-15, on social media, made a Facebook page called ‘Jind Breaking News’ and exposed many cases of corruption. The access of Sunil’s page looked from Dubai. He punished an ASI, while another ASI and traffic station in -charge were implicated in a bribery case.
Apart from this, he also did several sting. In 2018, there was a fatal attack on him, after which he got police protection. In 2024, a case of cheating was registered against him in the case related to IPS officer Sumit Kumar. In this case, he got so entangled that he had to commit suicide to escape from the police. Today there will be a postmortem of Sunil’s body in Dehradun.

ASI was sentenced to 5 years Sunil Kapoor applied to get a passport made in 2015. ASI Mahendra Singh of the city police station sought a bribe of 200 rupees in the name of police verification. Sunil Kapoor made a video of her, giving bribe and put it on her page. After the video surfaced, ASI Mahendra was immediately suspended and a case was filed against him.
During the investigation, the allegations against Mahendra were found to be correct. The department dismissed him from duty after some time, but after 3 months he was re -hired. In February 2020, the then Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajay Parashar’s court sentenced Mahendra to 5 years imprisonment and 10,000 fine.
Drug sting of drugs at medical store On 7 July 2017, Sunil Kapoor uploaded a video on his page. Sunil Kapoor went to the shop via Hidden camera and bought drugs and put the entire incident on his social media page. After this, the Health Department registered a raid at that shop and registered a case. The court sentenced the medical store operator to 10 years in 2020-21.
Attack 2 times in 2018, police security got Sunil Kapoor was also attacked 2 times in the year 2018. On 26 March 2018, the masked attacker entered his house and firing and assaulted family members. His parents were injured in this attack and Sunil also suffered a head injury.
After this, Sunil Kapoor was attacked for the second time on 6 April. Some masked miscreants arrived at his jewelery shop and beat up with sticks. Sunil, who was seriously injured in the attack, was first taken to the civil hospital. Later was admitted to a private hospital, where he underwent knee surgery.
Sunil had complained to DGP and IG, accusing an DSP rank official of corruption. After this, the officer registered a case of forgery and recovery against Sunil and his brother through the agent. However, he was relieved from the court.

In the video, the station in-charge stopped the trucks going from Jind bypass to Punjab and collecting Rs 400-400 from the drivers, in the video, the station in-charge also said that 3 of his teams are stationed in the district, Jind, Julana and Narwana. The police department came into action after the video went viral. The then DSP Dharambir Kharb investigated the case and submitted the report to the then DIG OP Narwal. Based on the report, the station in -charge was suspended and the departmental inquiry orders were issued.

After this, the departmental Fact Finding Committee started the investigation on the government’s instructions. Clean chit received from 3 women IPS officers report In view of the seriousness of the case, a special investigation team (SIT) was formed. In which women IPS officers Mamta Singh, Sangeeta Kalia and Aastha Modi were included. SIT has given its report. The report said that no consistent evidence was found in support of the allegations. That is, it was not proved in the investigation that the allegations against the IPS officer are valid. No female policemen have been revealed personally.
