The Jabalpur High Court has asked the government to settle the remaining ash after burning the toxic waste of Union Carbide.

In this case, the Jabalpur High Court on Thursday heard the petition of an organization called Bhopal Group for Information and Action and sought a response from the state government.

The High Court has directed to give information about the plan to bury it at an alternative place away from the population instead of Pithampur. The next hearing on the case will be held on 14 August.

During the hearing, it was not clarified by the state government as to why the remaining ash is being buried near the human population in Pithampur after burning the toxic waste of Union Carbide. It was also not told that if the poisonous mercury did not survive in the ashes after burning garbage, then where did she go.

The government will have to tell the plan in the next hearing The petitioner has demanded to include two independent technical experts in the hearing, on which the High Court has fixed the next hearing date on 14 August. The court took the Il report on record. Along with this, instructions were given to present a compile status report. Meanwhile, through another PIL in the High Court, it has been claimed that radio active substances are active in the ashes of union carbide’s toxic waste, which is a matter of concern.
The High Court has given a system of hearing with the original case after the preliminary hearing of the case. In the upcoming hearing, along with considering the answers of the members of the Expert Committee, other points will also be considered.
