Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has started a meeting with Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission in Delhi. CM Sukhu will urge Dr. Panagariya to cooperate with Finance to strengthen Himachal’s economic condition.

The recommendations of the new Finance Commission are to be implemented in April 2026. The Modi government has made Dr. Panagariya the chairman of the 16th Finance Commission. Therefore, Himachal CM has many times advocated Himachal’s entitlements before the Finance Commission.
