Ishani Thakur of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh has traveled barefoot and visited Srikhand on both sides. Between the minus 5 to 15 degrees, the passing through the flowing water, rocks and glaciers, Ishani completed without tired.

Ishani, a 28 -year -old from Bagipul in Nirmand in Kullu district, has taken this journey barefoot for the seventh time. For the first time in 2017, Shrikhand went barefoot. The Corona period did not travel for two years in 2020 and 2021. The rest of the Ishani is doing this journey every year.

Neither cold, nor any problem: Ishani
Ishani says that by the grace of Lord Bholenath, he neither realized the cold nor had trouble traveling. Despite walking so much, there was no blister in the foot. When they feel cold or some pain starts in the feet, then Lord remembers Bholenath and the pain and cold disappears.

Ishani said, he started traveling with his friends of Indore and his cousin Brother on 8 June. On June 11, he saw Lord Bholenath in Shrikhand and returned to Nirmand on 13 June. During this journey, one has to wear warm clothes. But Ishani has done this journey wearing a capri.

Why is it considered a difficult religious journey of the world?
Srikhand Mahadev Yatra is considered to be the most difficult religious journey in the world, not the country. To complete this journey, one has to pass through 3 glaciers and dangerous mountains. Devotees reach Nirmand in Kullu by trains. Walking starts from here.
Nirmand has a height of 4757 feet above sea level. After 3 to 4 days of walking, devotees reach an altitude of 18570 feet. Many times there is a lack of oxygen here. Many devotees have to return by halfway before completing this journey.
Due to dangerous paths, many times devotees fall from death. Because of these, the journey of Shrikhand Mahadev is not considered easy by wearing shoes. However, Ishani Thakur is repeatedly reaching Srikhand barefoot.

Permission to travel after fitness test
Officially, the journey has started from 10 July. A large number of devotees from all over the country are reaching Srikhand for this visit. The journey will run till 23 July. Registration is mandatory for this. The devotees have to pass the fitness test before starting the journey from Nirmand of Kullu. During this journey, bhandaras are installed at different places for the food of the devotees. Base camps have been built at five places.
Lord Shiva is considered to be the abode of Srikhand
It is believed that Lord Shiva resides on the top of Shrikhand. There is a 72 feet high Shivling in the form of rock here. After reaching here, devotees revolve around and worship it. This gives them desired results and fulfills their desire. A large number of devotees of Lord Bhole reach Shrikhand every year from all over the country.
Recognition of devotees regarding Shrikhand
According to a legend, an asura named Bhasmasura did harsh penance to please Lord Shiva. When Lord Shiva was pleased and appeared to Bhasmasura, he asked Lord Shiva that whichever he put his hand on his head, he should be consumed. This groom was taken by Bhasmasura to conquer the gods.
After coming to the ego, Bhasmasura started thinking of himself as God and started chasing Lord Shiva to consume Shiva’s wife Parvati. Then Lord Shiva came to Srikhand. After this, Lord Vishnu took the form of a beautiful woman and fascinated Bhasmasura. Taking the form of a woman, Vishnu asked Bhasmasura to dance and during the dance, Bhasmasura put her hand on her own head and ended.

How to reach Shrikhand?
The devotees of Bhole who want to go to Shrikhand will have to come from Rampur in Shimla district to Kullu and will have to come to Bagipul and Go. Here can be reached in a car and bus. Shimla to Rampur distance 130 km, Rampur to Nirmand 17 km, Nirmand to Bagipul 17 km. And the distance from Bagipul is 12 kilometers. A distance of 32 kilometers has to be traveled from here.
What can devotees see on the way
During the Srikhand Yatra, there are many panoramic sites including Parvati Bagh, Bhima Dwar, Nain Sarovar, Bhima Book, Barati Nala on the way. Parvati Bagh has a flower garden, where the fragrance of flowers mesmerize everyone. There are many types of herbs on the way.
