Many vehicles and bikes parked on the roadside in Shastri Nagar and Gandhinagar in Kullu were buried in debris. Debris was filled in many houses and shops. The river drain is in spate due to heavy rains in Kangra and Mandi. Chandigarh-Manali is closed from Landslide near Fourlane Aut, Jogni Mor, Dode and Drugada. Due to this, hundreds of people have been stranded on the forelane for several hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of relief from rain for the next five days in the state. Even today, rain alert has been issued in six districts Una, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. There may be strong rains in these districts at one or two places.
The Meteorological Department has also warned of rain in Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts next tomorrow. Yellow alert has been issued in Una, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts for 22 and 23 August.
