Landslides near Banjar bus stand in Kullu in Himachal Pradesh today (Friday) around 12 noon. This has damaged the taxi union office. Thankfully, no passer -by and the car came under its grip.

According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance is becoming active since tonight. In view of this, the rain has been given tonight in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba and Kangra districts. Orange alert of heavy rains was issued for 4 days from yesterday.

The next tomorrow, heavy rains are forecast in Una, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts. People are advised not to go around landslide potential areas and river drains. There may be water logging in Una. In such a situation, vigilance is necessary. On August 24, heavy rains are forecast in Kangra and Sirmaur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur on 25 August.

Rain will continue till 27 August

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of relief from rain till August 27 on the mountains. In this monsoon season, there is heavy havoc due to rain. So far, government and private assets worth Rs 2282 crore have been destroyed.

650 houses ground, loss of 2232 crores

650 houses have been completely damaged due to heavy rains, floods and landslides. Similarly, 385 shops and 2597 cowsheds have also been damaged.

108% from Normal in Una, 105% more rainfall in Kullu

During the monsoon season (20 June to 20 August), 17 percent more than normal and 32 percent clouds in August in August. Kullu district has received 105 percent more than normal, 108 percent in Una, 91 percent in Solan, 94 percent in Shimla, 59 percent in Bilaspur, Chamba 13, Hamirpur 41, Kangra 11, Kinnaur 53, Mandi 41 and Sirmaur has received 21 percent more rainfall than normal.
