Kullu DC Torul S. Ravish has issued orders to all petrol pump operators to keep petrol-diesel reserve for emergency and not to make hoarding. Pumps with a capacity of more than 25 thousand liters have been asked to keep at least 5 thousand liters of diesel and 3 thousand liters of petrol reserve. Small vehicles (LMV) will get a maximum of 20 liters at a time and heavy vehicles (HMV) will get fuel up to 100 liters.
The Beas River has destroyed Chandigarh-Manali Fourlane everywhere. It may take 2 days to restore. A large number of tourists are stranded between Chandigarh and Manali. Local people are arrangeing food for them.
In view of the rain, schools and colleges will still remain closed in Kullu, Mandi and Chambi. 675 roads are closed due to landslide. It is a matter of little relief that the monsoon will be slightly weak for the next 48 hours. Today there is only alert of rain in Shimla and Mandi. However, the monsoon will be active again from August 29.
The road was blocked by the mountain collapsed last evening on the Mandi-Janjaihali road.
