Four people of one family died in this accident. These include Gurpreet Singh, his wife Bharti, 3 -year -old daughter Kirat and mother Surendra Kaur. In this accident, the body of landlord Shanti Devi and a scooter rider was also recovered, which was hit during the landslide. In the last 24 hours, 12 people died due to landslide and house collapse.
Many parts of the state also received heavy rainfall last night. Due to this, 1333 roads have been blocked from Landslide. There are also reports of damage to homes in many places. The Meteorological Department has also given alert of very heavy rainfall at some places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts till 12 noon.
Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy to heavy rains in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Una districts. In view of this, all schools in Shimla, Solan, Chamba, Sirmaur, Kullu, Bilaspur and Kangra will still remain closed today. DC of the respective districts has instructed the heads of all schools to set up online classes.
